The Volunteer Voice is a bi-monthly newsletter published for our dedicated volunteers who give so much. Your time spent volunteering makes a difference in the lives of people who have Down syndrome. STARS Program Volunteers Needed

DSG's Special Teens Achieving Real Success (STARS) Program has lots of great summer fun planned for our teens with Down syndrome. We are looking for volunteers who are 17 or older to assist us with this program. All activities take place from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM and start/end at the DSG Office on the dates below:
July 9th, 13th,16th, 23rd
August 6th, 10th
Job duties for STARS volunteers include:
- Provide social support to teens participating in activities
- Promote socialization among teens
- Assist teens in various activities
- Address behavioral concerns as needed

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

DSG is hosting an adult dinner and movie outing for our members with Down syndrome who are 18 or older on Thursday, July 29th at the Legends in KC, KS. We are looking for five adult volunteers to join us from 5:30 PM-10:00 PM and help us host this great group outing. Please contact leslie@kcdsg.org to sign up today.
DSG purchases and bundles books on Down syndrome each year for our members to purchase at reduced prices and donate to schools, libraries and hospitals for Down Syndrome Awareness Month. We need volunteers to help with our marketing mailer and assembling bundles on the following dates:

Book Bundles assembled:
Monday, August 16th 6:00 PM-9:00 PM

DSG Family Day at Weston Red Barn Farm

DSG is heading to the Weston Red Barn Farm on Sunday, September 12th from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM. We need 30 volunteers to help us serve food, entertain kids, coordinate wheelbarrow and three legged races, run the pie eating contest and help with set up and take down.
